Neillsville American Legion Post 73 Splits With Osseo

The Neillsville American Legion Post 73 baseball team split a pair of games with Osseo on Thursday night.Neillsville won the first game 9-5. Coach Dave Matson said Neal Matson threw well in that first game as he got the win going 7 innings and striking out 9 while walking 2. Sam Neville was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Jacob Kunze and Jason Kurth were also 2 for 4 from the plate.
In game two, coach Matson said his team had too many errors which in turn gave Osseo more opportunities and more runs. Neillsville lost 11-6. Nolan Matson lead the offense going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Neal Matson was 2 for 2 with a run scored. Nathan Peterson took the loss.
Coach Matson said, "Offensively we are improving. I'm seeing a much more aggressive approach in our at bats- fewer strikeouts, more hits which turn into more run production."
The Neillsville American Legion Post 73 team is now 5-2 on the season and will play at Greenwood at Monday night at 5 pm.
