Neillsville American Legion Post 73 Off To Good Start

The Neillsville American Legion Post 73 baseball team is off to a 4-1 start after taking a pair from Melrose-Mindoro on Monday.In the first week of the season they split a doubleheader with Black River Falls, losing the first game 4-2 and then winning the second 15-8. Also last week the Legion Post 73 team beat Altoona 11-7.
On Monday, they beat Melrose-Mindoro in a doubleheader winning game 1, 9-3. Nolan Matson, Sam Neville and Jacob Kunze were all 2 for 3. Nate McDonald with 5 1/3 to get the win. In game two Neillsville won 11-1. Jacob Kunze was 2 for 3, Jason Kurth finished 2 for 2 and Neal Matson stole 4 bases and scored 3 runs.
Jason Kurth went the distance to get the win.
Neillsville Legion Post 73 will be at Osseo on Thursday for a doubleheader starting at 6 pm and then they'll be at Greenwood next Monday for a game starting at 5 pm.
