Northwoods League Baseball

Friday, May 31st, 2013 -- 11:08 AM

Thursday night's action included more problems with mother nature, but for the most part teams were able to fight through it.

La Crosse 10, Battle Creek 8

The Loggers were led by Dexter Price (Alabama State), who drove in a pair of runs and scored twice as the Loggers nabbed their first win of the year. La Crosse will travel to Madison on Friday to play the Mallards at 7:05 while the Bombers will host Eau Claire.

Wisconsin 6, Green Bay 4

The Woodchucks jumped out to an early five-run lead in the first inning and never looked back. Matt Tellor (Southeast Missouri) drove in a pair as the first five batters of the game scored for Wisconsin. Both teams will hit the road for 7:05 games on Friday as Green Bay travels to play Lakeshore and Wisconsin pays a visit to Wisconsin Rapids.

Lakeshore 10, Wisconsin Rapids 8 (F/10)

The Chinooks emerged victorious on a walk-off, 2-run blast from Brant Valach (Eastern Illinois). Despite a scare from Mother Nature, Lakeshore was able to hold on for the victory in the back-and-forth affair. Lakeshore and Wisconsin Rapids are both home Friday at 7:05 against Green Bay and Wisconsin, respectively.

Eau Claire vs. Madison- Postponed (Rain)

In the second inning of Thursday's contest, rains forced the umpires to delay play. After almost an hour, the game was officially postponed. It will be made up on July 5th as part of a double header.

Friday's Schedule:
Eau Claire @ Battle Creek
LaCrosse @ Madison
Wisconsin @ Wisconsin Rapids
