International Olympic Committee Announces Shortlist

At their executive board meeting in St. Petersburg today, the IOC announced its official shortlist of 2020 Olympics candidate sports.There were few surprises from the meeting.
Wrestling is on the list after being recommended for removal from the Games in February.
Squash is on the list for the third straight cycle after failing in 2005 and ?09, and baseball/softball took the third spot in its bid to renenter the Games after being ousted from the schedule following the Beijing Olympics.
Wrestling, Squash, and Baseball/Softball officials will pitch their sports to the full IOC membership in Buenos Aires this September for a final vote to determine which of the three will be added in 2020.
