Results from Thursday at the NCAA Division III Softball 8-team Regional at UW-Whitewater..UW-Whitewater (32-5) earned a 6-1 victory over Finlandia University (Mich.). The Warhawks will face Luther College (Iowa) (29-9) this afternoon at 3 p.m.
UW-Eau Claire (26-8) dropped a heart-breaking 12-10 decision to North Central College (Ill.). The Blugolds will now play in an elimination game this afternoon at 1 p.m. They will meet the loser of the Illinois Wesleyan University/Benedictine University (Ill.) matchup, which was played this morning at 10 am.
The winner of the regional, which is one of eight from around the nation, will advance to compete in the finals hosted by UW-Eau Claire at Gelein Field in Carson Park, May 17-21.
