Big Ten Women's Softball Tournament Gets Underway

The 2013 Big Ten Softball Tournament, held today through Sunday. Four games are scheduled for today?s opening round, with four more slated for Friday?s quarterfinals. Saturday will feature a pair of semifinal contests before the tournament concludes on Sunday with the tournament championship game.Wisconsin (39-11, 16-7) received the No. 4 seed at the Big Ten tournament and will play the winner of the first round game between No. 5 Northwestern and No. 12 Indiana at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
The Big Ten tournament is a single-elimination tournament, with the winner receiving the conference?s automatic bid to the NCAA championship.
BTN will provide live coverage of Saturday?s semifinals and Sunday?s final.
The 2013 NCAA Division I Softball Championship bracket will be announced Sunday, May 12, at 9 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
Regionals for the NCAA Division I Softball Championship will be held May 16-19 on 16 campus sites.
'Wisconsin's' last appearance in the NCAA championship was in 2005.
