UW-LaCrosse Reigns Supreme

University of Wisconsin-La Crosse collected its 23rd straight WIAC Men?s Outdoor Track & Field Championship while UW-La Crosse Claims Second Straight Women?s Outdoor Track & Field Crown

The UW-LaCrosse men won the 49th league crown in program history with 223 points. UW-Oshkosh finished second with 206 points, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Platteville tied for third with 110, UW-Whitewater fifth with 90, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout tied for sixth with 42, UW-River Falls eighth with 31 and UW-Superior ninth with four.

Named to the Larry Zirgibel All-Sportsmanship Team were: UW-Eau Claire?s Marty Richardson; UW-La Crosse?sIsaac Vazquez; UW-Oshkosh?s Jake Dickmann; UW-Platteville?s Jordan Olp; UW-River Falls? Tucker Malecha; UW-Stevens Point?s Jon Trzebiatowski; UW-Stout?s Sean O'Brien; UW-Superior?s Ed Martin; and UW-Whitewater?s Pat Lockington. The team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.

On the women's side, The first-place finish for the Eagles is the 28th in program history and sixth in the last seven seasons. This year?s crown was won with 246.50 points to surpass the 165.50 points accumulated by UW-Oshkosh. UW-Eau Claire placed third with 120.50 points, UW-Whitewater fourth with 106.50, UW-River Falls and UW-Stout tied for fifth with 58, UW-Stevens Point seventh with 52, UW-Platteville eighth with 36 and UW-Superior ninth with 14.
