WIAA Scholar Athlete Ceremony Held

The 30th Annual WIAA Scholar Athlete Award Banquet was held last night at the Jefferson Street Inn in Wausau.Bill Ferrario, the former offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers, was the featured speaker at the Ceremony .
Of the over 750 students who applied, just 32 were selected. Aleyna Goerlitz of Owen-Withee High School was one of those 32 who were honored last night. Aleyna has won 11 varsity letters in volleyball, basketball and track. She earned first team all conference honors in volleyball 3 years and basketball 1 year. She was also a two-time team MVP in volleyball, basketball and track and she is #1 in her class of 41.
Seventeen of this year?s 32 WIAA Scholar Athlete finalists have a grade point average of 4.0 to date, while the average GPA is 3.90.
