Neillsville Athletes Compete At Special Olympics Wisconsin State Winter Games

Several Neillsville athletes competed, and did very well this past weekend at the Special Olympics Wisconsin State Winter Games. Skiers and Snowboarders events held at Granite Peak; others were held at 9 Mile Forest near Wausau.
Cross Country Skiing:
Thomas Roth: 500M 1st, 1K, 1st
Connor Breitung: 100M 6th, 200M 2nd
Snowshoeing:
Gregory Schmidt: 100M, 1st and 200M, 3rd
Snowboarding
Daina Shilts: Slalom, 1st; Giant Slalom, 1st; Unified Slalom, 1st; Unified Giant Slalom, 1st
Alpine Skiing:
Carter Urban: Slalom, 3rd; Giant Slalom, 3rd; Unified Slalom 2nd and Unified Giant Slalom, 2nd
Rick Langreck: Slalom, 1st; Giant Slalom, 1st; Unified Slalom, 1st; and Unified Giant Slalom 1st
Steven Conrad: Slalom, 1st; Giant Slalom, 1st; Unified Slalom, 2nd; and Unified Giant Slalom, 2nd
Kolin Schmitz: Slalom, 2nd; Giant Slalom, 2nd; Unified Slalom, 1st, and Unified Giant Slalom, 1st
All skiers/snowboarders had a unified partner and Kolin competed with his sister Karcyn as a unified team.
