Northwoods League Announces 2013 Schedule

The Northwoods League announced the release of the 2013 schedule on Monday.The Eau Claire Express will begin their ninth season of Northwoods League play on Wednesday, May 29 in Madison versus the Mallards. Eau Claire will spend the first four games of the season on the road in Madison and Battle Creek before the home season opens on Sunday, June 2 versus the Wisconsin Woodchucks. First pitch of the home opener is scheduled for 5:05 PM.
Eau Claire?s home schedule will include a few different start times. Most home games will begin at 6:35 PM, with a few exceptions. Friday night home games will begin at 7:05 PM and Sunday home games will begin at 5:05 PM. The Thursday, July 4 game will begin at 6:05 PM to accommodate the City of Eau Claire?s fireworks display.
The league again will feature a 70-game regular season schedule. Returning in 2013 for the first time since 2009 is a selection of games played against the North Division. Each team will play one home and away series with two teams from the opposite division, with eight games total played versus the North Division.
Regular season play begins Wednesday, May 28 and concludes on Sunday, August 11. Divisional playoffs begin the following day and run through Wednesday, August 14 and will match each division?s first and second half winners in a best-of-three format. Winners of those series will begin play for the Northwoods League Championship on Thursday, August 15. That best-of-three series will conclude on Saturday, August 17.
