Millis In Running For Al Toon Award

Thursday, October 25th, 2012 -- 10:51 AM

The Al Toon Award is given annually to the state's top senior wide receiver or tight end as part of the WisSports.net Senior Football Awards.

The award is named after former University of Wisconsin athlete Al Toon, who went on to play in the NFL for several very successful seasons before multiple concussions ended his career early.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 25 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. One of those finalists is Jordan Millis of Black River Falls.

On the season Millis has 33 catches for 948 yards and 16 touchdowns. Over the last three games he's caught 8 passes for 377 yards, with all 8 catches going for scores. He's also rushed for 214 yards and 5 touchdowns while serving as a threat in the return game as well.

The winner of the Al Toon Award will be announced the week of the state football finals.
