Kapusta Ready For State Cross Country Meet

Thursday, October 25th, 2012 -- 10:45 AM

Cordell Kapusta, a junior at Neillsville High School, is getting set to compete in the 100th running of the WIAA Boys Cross Country Championships at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday.

Cordell competed at State last year but he qualified higher (2nd at Sectionals) this year compared to 10th last year and his goal at this year's State Meet is also higher. Last year he finished 57th and this year he hopes to finish around 25th at State.

Head coach Adam Luchterhand gives a lot of the credit of getting Cordell ready for State to his assistant Heather Langreck. Luchterhand said their goal at State is to do better than last year in the field of Division 3 runners that numbers around 160. Luchterhand said anything in the top third is what they are hoping for.
