Neillsville Girls Volleyball Begins Season Tuesday

The Neillsville Girls Volleyball team will get their regular season underway on Tuesday with a Triangular at the Fieldhouse.

The Neillsville Girls Volleyball team will return 4 players off last years team that finished 6-3 in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference. The Warriors will be led by a couple of All-Conference players from a year ago, Jenni Lindner and Lindsey Opelt, and coach Tammy Matson is happy with the players she has back including Kaitlin Crothers who is back on varsity this year.

Matson said that her core group of players have been getting along well and they are strong in hitting especially in the middle. She says as long as they can serve receive they'll be alright this year.

In the triangular on Tuesday with Augusta and Eleva-Strum, coach Matson will be looking for what clicks on the court. She'll be looking for the rotation that works and clicks on the court. She also be looking to find out what the team needs to work on.

As far as the outlook for the season, coach Matson has high hopes. The Warriors will have a tall team with some strong hitters and as long as they focus on their serve receive they should do well and coach Matson said they always hope to finish in the top 3 in the conference.

The Triangular on Tuesday will get underway at 5 pm.
