Neillsville Girls Golf Outlook

Thursday, August 16th, 2012 -- 11:24 AM

With 3 girls graduating from last year's team, the 2012 Neillsville Girls Golf team has 6 girls competing this year..

Hallie Eisfeldt, a junior, is the team's number 1# golfer. Hallie has been on varsity the last 3 years. Hallie also qualified for sectionals last year.

Their number 2# golfer is sophmore Avriel "Avo" Voigt. She was the number 3# golfer last year and one of the top freshman golfers in our conference last year.

Courtney Poeshcel is a senior and the #3 golfer. This is Courtneys second year playing golf, and according to head coach Tim Voigt, she has come along way with her game.

Hannah Quicker is Neillsville's #4 golfer. Hannah did'nt play last year and coach Voigt says they are very happy to have her back for her senior year.

The Lady Warriors also have two beginner golfers out for the team. Junior Jillayne Opelt and Sophmore Alysja Otten. Coach Voigt said they are both great to coach and are getting better everyday.

Coach Voigt comments on this year's team:
We graduated 3 seniors from last years bunch and will miss them dearly. We are working very hard on improving our games and most of all we are having a great time doing it. This my second year as the girls golf coach. I love coaching any sport that involves girls athletics. I am partial to girls because I have two of my own. I hope to get more girls interested golf. Its a great game that can be played for life. We look foward to a great year.

Neillsville is at Walnut Grove Country Club in Cochrane-Fountain-City for a match this Monday.
