Geraldine (Gerry) Lueck, 95, of Neillsville passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Neillsville Retirement Center.

Geraldine Mable Reinhardt was born April 10, 1931 in the township of Mead, Clark County, WI, to August and Elsie (Buker) Reinhardt. It was an early spring that year, and farmers “were seeding with dust flying”. She grew up on a farm northwest of Greenwood through 5th grade, and then moved to Canton, IL and went through 6th and 7th grade there. She then moved to Christie, WI and lived with her dear Aunt Irma and Uncle Teddy Kuester temporarily before moving to Loretta/Draper, WI to live with her mom and stepfather. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Draper. After 9th grade, she moved back to Christie and lived with the Kuester family. She graduated in 1949 from Neillsville High School. After high school, she worked at Roddis in Marshfield.

Gerry married Wilmer Everett Lueck on August 18, 1951 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Christie, Wisconsin. They farmed in the township of York on the Lueck family farm until 1989. After selling the farm, they moved to Hill Street in Neillsville. She also worked at Figi’s, Pamida, the Neillsville IGA, and McQuade Financial Services.

Gerry was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid in Christie for many years before becoming a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. She was involved as a leader in the Happy Valley 4-H Club and a member of the Kountry Kitchen Homemakers Club in Christie. She enjoyed bowling, dancing to polkas and waltzes, snowmobiling, and especially playing cards in a couple’s club and in later years with her dear friends on Mondays and Thursdays. She loved to travel and visited all fifty states. Gerry enjoyed spending time with her five daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren. She liked going to plays, concerts, going on bus trips with friends, and tending her flower gardens.

Gerry is survived by her five daughters: Sharon Helwig of Marshfield; Linda (Mark) Hemp of Neillsville; Janis (Michael) Truax of Northfield, MN; Donna (Scott) Stejskal of Eau Claire; and Julie (Donald) Walker of Neillsville; her half-sister, Audrey (Ronald) Poitra of Seal Beach, CA; her half-brother Gene (Mervat) Jacks of Damascus, OR; and cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Christopher (Lisa Berg) Helwig, Curtis (Kelly) Helwig, Cory (Christina) Helwig, Stefanie (Kevin) Bramwell, Jonathan (Jenna) Hemp, Caitlin Truax, Benjamin (Katharine) Truax, Jordan Bush, Samuel Bush, and Logan McQuade; and great grandchildren: Trenton, Easton, Gracie, Adelyn, Evrett, and Sydney Helwig; Emma and Jacob Bramwell; Karli, Alexa and Mya Gross; and Lincoln Hemp.

Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer; her parents; sons-in-law Daniel Helwig and Timothy McQuade, and granddaughter Kimberly Helwig. She was also preceded in death by her siblings-in-law Lucille and Alfred Boon, Bernita and Vern Swieso, and Norma and Wally Erickson.

Gerry’s faith in God was central to her life, and she was always active in her church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she loved her family dearly. She had many cherished friends and was generous with her time for others.

A Memorial Service for Gerry will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church. A livestream of Gerry’s services can be viewed at www.geschefh.com
