Lavern C. “Blondie” (Grussing) Sternitzky, age 85, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She was born on May 9, 1940, in Montevideo, MN.

She grew up in Central Wisconsin and found great joy in flowers, gardening, caring for her large yard, and watching the purple martins. She was an amazing cook and baker whose meals and treats were cherished by many. Crocheting was a lifelong hobby that brought her much happiness.

Lavern was united in marriage to Vernon R. Sternitzky, who preceded her in death in February of 2018.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Mary A. (Michael) Esser, Molly J. (John) Drach, Chris M. (Curtis) Anding, and son, Mickey (Tara) Sternitzky.

She was especially proud of her family and dearly loved her 10 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and a great-granddaughter expected soon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, and her oldest granddaughter, Manda Rae Esser.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Wells Nature View and St. Croix Hospice for the special care and kindness shown to Lavern and her loved ones.

Honoring her wishes, no visitation or funeral service will be held. Please know that she is now pain-free and at peace.
