Jack Mallory 73 died Monday April 6, 2026 at Meadow View Manor, Neillsville, WI. Jack was born March 6,1953 to Marvin M. and Theresa I. (Moeller) Mallory at Neillsville, WI. He graduated from Byron High School, Byron Il. in 1970. He played a tuba in the middle and high school band, and held a Byron High School shotput record for many years. After high school graduation, Jack completed a two-year machining training at Woodword Governor, Rockford Ill. He worked for Ingersoll Milling Machine Company for a time. He enjoyed gardening and planted trees on his family’s property in Illinois. Jack also worked in landscaping. One project involved carefully hand digging around a large tree and replanting it. In his younger years he was an avid bike rider and took extended bike trips from Northern Illinois into the hill country of South Western Wisconsin.

Jack worked in all areas of the home building business for several years, and generously shared his knowledge and expertise. He would travel from Rockford to help with his family’s building projects. Jack and relatives completed a two-car garage for his mother’s Wisconsin home. He also helped remodel a building in Iowa for his sister and brother-in-law’s computer business. In later years Jack became proficient in masonry while working with a floor covering business. He again used his expertise for family by completing a rock fireplace and tiled a bathroom shower room and floors for another sister and brother-in-law. He met a very special friend later in life and enjoyed going out to eat and interacting with her family. As a result of increased disability, Jack moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family. During those 12 years, he enjoyed walks in the woods with his caregiver Cheryl.

Jack is survived by his mother Theresa Mallory, special friend Susan Lauder, sisters, Rochelle Pederson, Judith (Mallory) Howell (John) and nieces, Diane (Armondo) Gomez, Beth Tichy, Falon (Mallory) Vails (Mathew), Val Howell (Brad).
