Jill Noah

With sadness, we announce the passing of, and celebrate life of a wonderful woman, Jill J. Noah, who was born on December 31, 1947 in Marshfield, WI, and passed away at Marshfield Medical Center on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. She lived a life filled with dedication to her family, compassion for others, and pride in the work she loved.
Jill Joan Colby was born in Marshfield, WI to Eugene W. and Joan J. (Schoonover) Colby. She was raised in Loyal, WI until her family moved to Clinton, WI, where she graduated from Clinton High School in 1966. Jill was united in marriage to Larry Vander Kooi in Clinton, WI in 1966, and they moved to Mosinee, WI to farm. They later divorced. She moved to Arizona in 1986 and attended nursing school, earning her license as an L.P.N. She was especially proud of her career as a nurse in Pine Top/Lakeside, Arizona, where she cared for countless patients and touched many lives with her kindness and skill. Jill was united in marriage to Elmer E. Noah on August 8, 2008 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, rural Greenwood, WI. She worked as a nurse doing home health care, and also was a chaperone for Greenwood Bus Service.
She was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Auxiliary, and was a volunteer for Arizona Search & Rescue while living in Arizona.
Jill had many interests, but especially loved plants, flowers, gardening, traveling, road trips, and spending time with her family. Family meant everything to her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Elmer, of Greenwood; her seven children: Jeff (Monica) Vander Kooi of Brodhead, WI, Jayson (Renita) Vander Kooi of Mauston, WI, Kateri (Cory) Bartz of Clinton, WI, Michelle (Scott) Radke of Thorp, WI, Jodi (Ken) Kitzhaber of Greenwood, WI, Jason Noah (Chrissy Mayer) of Greenwood, WI, Brad Noah (Phillis Duva) of Green Bay, WI; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous pride and joy; four brothers whom she loved dearly: Craig (April) Colby of Apache Junction, AZ, Carter (Carol) Colby of Stevens Point, WI, Carl (Lynda) Colby of Pell Lake, WI, Curt Colby of South Beloit, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jill was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Jan Mastin; two brothers: Clark and Chris Colby; and her grandparents, Buford and Alta Schoonover.
As the oldest sibling in her family, she helped shape the lives of those who came after her and remained a source of strength, guidance, and love throughout her life.
Her legacy lives on through the many people she cared for, the family she raised, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life for Jill will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Greenwood American Legion in Greenwood, WI from 1pm to 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorials be given in her name to the A.L.S. Foundation.
