James Joseph "Jim" Gall
James “Jim” Joseph Gall was born to Edwin and Margaret (Weber) Gall on October 29, 1939. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Neillsville High School before enlisting in the Army, where he finished his schooling. While serving his country, he was a member of the Signal Corps. He was assigned to Fort Benning, Georgia, Fort Dix, New Jersey and Korea.
In addition to his life partner/wife Mary Ann, Jim is survived by his children Scott Gall, Gina (John) Steiner, Lori Smagacz (Jim) Johnson, and Jim (Jean) Smagacz, grandchildren Kayla (Nick) Fitzgerald, Sidney Steiner, Eden Steiner, James (TJ) Johnson, Jason Johnson, Amanda Smagacz and Bryan Smagacz, great grandchildren Mia, Jada, Leela and Alaric, sister Jean (Joe) Wirkuty, brother Tom (Kathy) Gall, and many extended family members, as well as his beloved dog Abbie.
Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings Dorothy Gall in infancy, Marie (Joe) Vetrano, Elmer (Audrey) Gall, Viola (Lee) Marshall, Arthur (Dorothy) Gall, Louise (Harvey) Bauer, Theresa (Harold) Bennett, and Alice (Alvin) Wirkuty.
Jim’s faith was very important to him. Services/Celebration of Life will be held on February 21, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wisconsin. Father Greg Michaud will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow at the church following the service.
