Tyler Gress

Tyler Gress died July 11, 2025, at the age of 58, suffering a stroke following hip surgery subsequent to a fall.

In recent years, he enjoyed living at Whispering Pines among those who understood him and his Down syndrome.   He attended Willow Ridge adult daycare and looked forward to the “job” he proudly went to, lunch in hand, several days a week and worked recycling items for Clark County Rehab and Living.   He will be remembered for his (mostly) good temper, joy in the laughter of others, and his appreciation of music.  His proudest possession was a stereo with great speakers, created from a Volkswagen car, that he proudly showed to anyone interested.

Tyler was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Gwen Gress.

Survivors include siblings Greg (Diane) Gress and Pam (Jan) Pierce; nephews Justin (Eden) Pierce, Ian (Courtney) Pierce, and Aaron Pierce; nieces Alissa (Brett) Thompson and Rachel (Teddy) Berg; along with their children Maddi, Mitch, Shaylen, Dempsey, Lillian, Emma, Ruby, Edwin, Charlotte, and Henrik.

No services will be held.

Online Condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Tyler’s family.
