Ken Durst

​​Kenneth Durst, age 75, of Neillsville, WI, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

He was a hard-working man who spent 22 years at Nelson Filter then moved on to work 25 years at Abby Vans before retiring 3 years ago to enjoy family life.

Ken was an avid fisherman, and bow and gun hunter as well. He loved Nascar races, and enjoyed basketball, volleyball and watching football. The Green Bay Packers were his favorite team.

He loved his family and friends very much. He even liked his neighbors. Ken requested we say “Thank you” to everyone for always being so kind to him.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Melinda, a daughter, Melanie Durst, a son, Matthew (Michelle) Durst, step-sons, Steve (Karen) Sanders, Scott (Angie) Sanders, Travis (Kari) Sanders and special “daughter-at-heart”, Emma Schultz, along with 20 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and four siblings, Evelyn Quicker, Carol (Steve) Boushon, Allen Durst, and Charles (Pam) Durst.

He was preceded in death by his parent, a grandson, Aaron Durst, a sister, Suzanne Durst, and a brother-in-law, “Butch” Quicker, sister-in-law, Anne Durst, and step-son, Patrick Sanders.

A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held at Snyder’s Park in July.
