Leona Simmons

Leona Simmons, age 88, of Neillsville, WI, died Friday, January 23, 2025, at the Riverside Assisted Living facility in Neillsville, WI.

Leona M. Lukowski was born on January 26, 1936, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Leo and Martha (Delski) Lukowski. She was united in marriage to Eugene Francis Simmons on September 17, 1955, in Omaha, NE. They moved to Neillsville after they were married, and raised veal calves on their farm in Washburn Township. Leona was a hard-working woman with a kind heart, who loved her family very much.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene, a sister, Donna Kroll, a brother, William Lubowski both of Omaha, NE and several nieces and nephews, along with good friends, Bev and Tom Short and ……….

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Richard and a sister, Martha Jo.

A graveside service in the Neillsville City Cemetery will be held at a later date.
