Joyce M. Becker, 86, of Neillsville, WI, died on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Marshfield Medical Center-Neillsville.

Joyce Mary Mashin was born on April 18, 1938 in Neillsville, WI the daughter of Albert and Thelma (Hake) Mashin.  On December 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Terry Becker the love of her life.  They were married 66 years.  She was able to stay home to take care of her daughters until they went to school and then drove school kids in their station wagon from the Globe Country School.  Later she would work at the Montgomery Ward store in Neillsville and then at Schmitty’s Grocery Store, finally ending up working at the Holiday Stationstore.  She loved to visit the different people that came into the store, always with a smile.  Joyce loved to travel and see new places.  Her travels took her to Canada, Florida, the East Coast, Alaska, Hawaii, California and Arizona.  If they were driving, she could look at the map once and know the route.  We always thought she should have been a travel agent.  One of her favorite travel partners was her daughter, Cindy.  They had many wonderful trips together and made a lot of memories.

Joyce was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe and Ladies Aid, and in her younger years she was a 4H Leader and taught sewing for the Lucky Clovers 4H Club of which her daughters were members.  She was also a member of the Globe Homemakers and most recently loved being a member of the Red Hat Society of Neillsville.  She moved from the farm to an apartment in Neillsville recently and she loved it along with her cat, Tuff, who was always by her side.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jim) Ehlers, her grandson, Justin (Kristy) Ehlers and their children Andi and Easton Ehlers.  She is also survived by a brother, DeWayne Mashin of Tomah and a sister-in-law, Joan Oswald also of Tomah, WI and let us not forget Tuff.  He was a wonderful companion to Joyce for the last 2 ½ years.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Terry, daughter Tammy Becker and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2025 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.  Pastor Nathan Wilke will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2025 prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Clark County Humane Society, W3926 State Hwy 73, Neillsville, WI  54456 or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe, N6466 County Road G, Neillsville, WI  54456.
