Geraldine Syth

GERALDINE H. "GERI" SYTH, age 91, of Greenwood, WI, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Riverside Assisted Living in Neillsville, WI.  Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood.  Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10am until time of service.

Geraldine Helen Syth was born on May 26, 1933 on the home farm in Greenwood, WI to Gerald B. and Leona F. (Weber) Syth.  She was raised on the family farm, and received her education in the Greenwood area, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1951.  Geri then moved to Chicago where she graduated from South Chicago School of Nursing as a registered nurse.  She worked as a nurse in the Chicago area her entire life, the last 35 years for the Visiting Nurses Association doing home care.  After retiring in 2003, Geri moved back to Greenwood where she built a home and resided until 2018.  She then moved to Neillsville and has resided at Riverside Assisted Living until her death.

Geri was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood, loved spending time with family and friends, golfing when she was younger, and listening to music.

She is survived by two sisters: Rita (Norman) Mayenschein of Greenwood, Sue Brockman of Greenville, WI; her special friend, Marilyn Rowe of Marshfield, WI; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Geri was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers: Bernard, Ronald and Duane Syth.
