JAMES D. “JIM” ARCH, age 64, of Greenwood, WI, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI, on Friday, May 24, 2024.  Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, WI.  Rev. Emmanuel Famiyeh will officiate, and burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 9am until time of service.  Lunch/celebration of life will follow the service located in the church hall. 

James Dean Arch was born on June 3, 1959 in Marshfield, WI, to Ernest J. and Mildred L. (Podobnik) Arch.  He was raised and received his education in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1977.  After high school, Jim worked at Nelson Muffler in Neillsville, while farming the family farm.  He then attended UW-Marshfield for one year, and then UW-Madison for one year, studying Agriculture & Agronomy.  In 1991, he entered the Peace Corps, where he served for 2 years and met his future wife-to-be.  Jim was united in marriage to Yolanda M. Zavala-Escobar on June 4, 1994 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard.  They farmed crops in Greenwood and he started his own business, Arch Crop Consulting.  In 2013, Jim went to work for the Clark County Land & Conservation Department in Neillsville, where he worked until the present time as the Director.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed gardening/farming, cars, fixing things, classic rock music, and helping others.

Jim was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he served on the church board, and was a member of various committees over the years.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Yolanda, of Greenwood; one son: Steven of Madison; one brother: William "Bill" of Greenwood; two sisters: Nancy Arch Karlin (Jim) of Westlake, CA; Karyn Johnson of Evergreen, CO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
