Lamoine A. Anason
On July 25, 2023, as the sun set on a beautiful day, Jesus took Lamoine Arthur Anason home to be with Him to join his beloved wife, Carol, who he missed dearly.
Lamoine was born on November 10, 1935 at home in Mauston, WI to Maynard and Nettie (Fry) Anason. He was in the first class to graduate in the new Neillsville High School in 1954. While in high school he was a member of the FFA all four years.
He served in the Army National Guard. He met the love of his life, Carol J. Abrahamson at the Silver Dome Ballroom in Neillsville. They were married June 1, 1957 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, honeymooned out west in the Badlands and Yellowstone National Park. After returning to Neillsville, they farmed dairy cattle and raised their family. Lamoine also worked at the milk condensery, hauled milk, Neillsville Post Office and Pamida/Shopko.
He achieved his dream of obtaining his pilot’s license. Other past times included woodworking and making gifts for his children and grandchildren. It was with anticipation every year what woodworking Christmas gift would be for each family. He also enjoyed bowling, dancing (especially polkas) and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an active life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church which included being the maintenance/janitor for 13 years, in the choir, and a council member.
He will be greatly missed by his children: Charlene (Jon) Siebert, Cheryl (Ivan) Alf, Larry (Kay) Anason, Kevin (Connie) Anason and Kathy (Gary) Reither; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Lamoine is survived by his brother, Oliver (Inky) Anason, sisters-in-law Susan Janke, Sandy Abrahamson and brother-in-law Bernard Abrahamson, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, parents Maynard and Nettie Anason,
