Diane Hernandez, age 71, went home to Jesus on April 9, 2023. In her last moments, she was with her son Tony Hernandez III and niece Aleta Miller. Her daughter Michele Flink, granddaughters Briana & Kyia, and sisters Susan & Debbie spent many sweet moments with her in her final days. Diane was surrounded by her loved ones and wonderful caretakers from Randolph Health Services in the two weeks she transitioned from this world to her heavenly home.

Diane was preceded in passing by her Husband, Tony Hernandez Jr., Mother, Frances Jeffery, Father, Joe Diaz, Brother, George Diaz, Brother-In-Law, Jerry Stillman, Nephew, Anthony Asuncion, her beloved pets, and other close family and friends.

Diane is survived by her sisters, Susan Asuncion of La Crosse, WI, Debbie Stillman of San Antonio, TX,  2 children, Tony (Sheena) Hernandez of Fall River, WI, Michele (Scott) Flink of Abbotsford, WI, 7 grandchildren, Kyia Hernandez of Milwaukee, WI, Josh (Jessica) Jennings of Colfax, WI, Briana Jennings of Rice Lake, WI, Morgan (Jeffery) Schmit of Beaver Dam, WI, Mason Hernandez of Columbus, WI, Exandra Castner of Abbotsford, WI, Marissa (Desiree) Becker of Pittsville, WI, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 nephew, Scotty Stillman of San Antonio, TX, and 2 nieces, Aleta (Rand) Miller of Onalaska, WI, Zena (Ted) Pelletier of San Antonio, TX, 3 great nieces, and 3 great nephews.

Diane was born in Chicago on April 7, 1952, and spent her early life exploring Chicago with her siblings and neighborhood friends. Concerts, forests, Chicago botanic gardens, and The Moody Church Sunday School were just a few of the places that captivated their time. In her late teens, she moved to Granton, WI. Granton is where her & her husband raised their family and built a beautiful life together. She was proud to call Granton her home.

She worked for the Granton school district as a bus driver, Nelson Muffler, Short’s Fur farm, Weather Shield, Avon, and Arby’s throughout her life, where she made many lifelong friends.

A few of her favorite things were cooking Mexican food for her loved ones, bowling, watching movies, and thrifting…she could always find a good deal.

She deeply loved and was very proud of her family and the vast life they all lived. She enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren as they grew up to be successful adults and found great joy in her great-grandchildren, never missing a moment to love on her babies.

In her later years, she enjoyed being a member of York Center United Methodist Church, volunteering at the Clark County Food Pantry, and working a few hours at Rodger’s Grocery Store.

Diane will be greatly missed by all who touched her life. She was one of a kind and knew how to welcome and love people, no matter who they were or where they came from. If you were loved by Diane, you were blessed.

Funeral services for Diane will be held at 11:00 a.m., April 13, 2023, at York Center United Methodist Church in Granton, WI. Pastor Russell Francois will officiate. The burial will be in the Windfall Cemetery in Granton, WI. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the York Center United Methodist Church. Following the committal rites at the cemetery a lunch will be served in the basement of the York Center United Methodist Church.
