Dorothea Foster age 96 of Altoona, WI died March 23, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Communities - River Pines in Altoona, WI.  Dorothea was born May 19, 1926 in Darmstadt, Germany.

Dorothea united in marriage on November 10, 1951 to Royale Kunshier they lived in rural Neillsville WI until Royale passed away on August 3, 1968.  Dorothea married James Foster on July 11, 1970 they lived in Hatfield WI. James passed away on January 29, 1978.

Dorothea was known for her kind smile, loving nature and the best hugs. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed doing word search puzzles, macramé and enjoyed fresh cut flowers.

She is survived by her children Kay Boysen (Robert), Manfred Weisgerber (Patricia),Ernie Kunshier (Judy), Bruno Kunshier (Mary), Doris Johnson,  Marion Shankey (Mark), daughter in law Cindy Foster. Her 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.

Dorothea was preceded in death by husband Royale Kunshier, 2nd husband James Foster, significant other Art Drager, her parents, her brother Joseph Nothnagle, her son Loren Foster, her two grandsons Billy and Bobby Boysen.

The family extends a tremendous thank you to Grace Lutheran Communities-River Pines of Altoona, WI and to St Croix Hospice of Eau Claire, WI for the outstanding care they provided for Dorothea.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 29,2023 at Gesche Funeral home in Neillsville, WI. Interment will be in the Dells Dam Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 to 1:00 pm Wednesday at Gesche Funeral Home.
