Amber R. Pischer, age 92, of Black River Falls, WI, formerly of Neillsville, WI died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire, WI.

Amber Ramona Pischer was born on November 24, 1929, in the Town of Grant, Clark County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Elmer and Agnes (Garbisch) Marg. She was baptized December 8, 1929, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton, Wisconsin, and was confirmed on May 24, 1944. Amber attended Granton grade and parochial schools and graduated from Granton High School on May 26, 1948. She later attended the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.

Amber was united in marriage to Harvey Pischer on June 26, 1948, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. They farmed in the area until 1958 when they moved to Neillsville. Amber was a telephone operator until the dial system was installed. She then was employed at the Clark County Press. She waitressed while her children were in school. After her retirement, Amber provided care for many people needing assistance. From 1997 - 2016 Amber wrote a column, “Neillsville News”, for the Clark County Press.

Amber volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, 4-H leader, at the local hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop and gift shop, and at the 1897 Clark County Jail Museum. She was a member of the Granton FFA Alumni Association, the Southern Clark County Sportsmen's Club, the Clark County Historical Society, and the 1897 Clark County Jail Museum.

She is survived by her four children; Kenneth (Trudy Kendall) Pischer of Santa Rosa, CA, Kathleen (Thomas) Hyslop of Pewaukee, WI, Dave Pischer of Edmonds, WA and Carrie (Dan) Christie of Black River Falls, WI.

She was the proud grandmother of Jason (Valerie) Pischer, Jennifer (Joseph) Barker, Erik Hyslop, Kevin (Jennifer) Christie, Lisa Christie, Lori Christie, Anna Pischer, Austin Pischer, Amber Ivey and Alex Ivey. 

She also had eight great-grandchildren; Hudson and Ryan Pischer, Tommy, Morgan and Will Barker, Helena Hyslop, and Elizabeth and Julian Christie.

Amber is also survived by a sister-in-law, Rhoena Marg of Granton, WI, nieces, nephews and other beloved family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Harvey, her parents, Elmer and Agnes Marg; five siblings: Alene Lautenbach, Curtiss Marg, Duane “Jim” Marg, Erland Marg and Ruth Marg.

Amber will be dearly missed by her family and by all who knew her. She was a loving and caring soul.

A private burial will occur at a later date.
