Monday, December 15th, 2025 -- 11:01 AM
Tax bills from the City of Marshfield will be arriving in your mailboxes next week.
The new city tax rate is set at $8.37 per thousand, resulting in city taxes of approximately $837 for a home valued at $100,000. This represents a 3.9% increase from the previous year's rate.
Factors contributing to this tax increase include an increase in the allowable levy, a voter-approved referendum to enhance public safety in the Fire Department, an increase in the debt levy for 2026 principal and interest payments, and a recent settlement affecting the City’s budget, resulting in an approximately $350,000 loss in tax revenue.

The U.S. Postal Service has changed its mail postmarking processes. It’s no longer the date that USPS first touches it. It’s stamped at the sorting centers. If property owners wait until the last minute (for example, the last week in January), then some of the mail might be postmarked after January.
If the letter is postmarked after January, the payment is considered delinquent.
