Man Sentenced for Stabbing in Tomah

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) A man charged with a stabbing in Tomah was sentenced in Monroe County Court on Tuesday, according to WEAU Staff.
According to the Tomah Police Department, police received reports that a stabbing victim was dropped off at Tomah Health around 10:15 p.m back in November of 2024.
The victim had serious injuries and was transported to another hospital for more intensive care. Through their investigation, Tomah Police were led to an address on Carol Kay Street in Tomah where Justin Novak was found and taken into custody.
During his plea/sentencing hearing on Tuesday, Novak was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide, aggravated battery-intend great bodily harm, and 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety.
Another charge was dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to a total of 10 years in state prison and 20 years extended supervision.
