County Board Approves Cemetery Addition and Land Purchase

The Clark County Board of Supervisors met on Thursday. They heard the 2024 IT Committee Report, approved Peter Kas to the county's board of adjustment and handled two land transactions.

The first saw the board approving the purchase of 4.69 acres of land in the Town of Washburn adjacent to the County Forest. The property will provide continued road access to the County Forest from Ballard Road. The land will be added to the County Forest Land under the County Forest land law. The $9600 for the purchase will come from the Forestry & Parks budget and will eventually provide revenue back to the county from the sale of forest products, as well as providing outdoor recreational activites for the public and will improve the wildlife habitat in the Clark County Forest in the town of Washburn.

The board also approved the request from the Town of Sherwood to increase the size of the Sherwood Forest Cemetery.
