Wood County Sheriff’s Department Warns of Scam

Recently, Wood County residents have received phone calls from individuals claiming to be from the Wood County Sheriffs department, utilizing multiple phone numbers, regarding alleged warrants for failure to appear for jury duty.

Please be advised that the Sheriff’s Department is not initiating such calls. Do not provide personal information to these callers or make financial transactions with them.

A recent victim was asked to get Bitcoin to satisfy warrants/debts.
