Hixton Fire Department Responds to Semi Fire on I-94

The Hixton Fire and Rescue Department assisted with a semi fire early Friday morning.

According to a release from the Department, around 3:21am, Hixton Fire & Rescue was requested to assist Black River Falls Fire and Rescue at the 117 west bound on I-94 for a semi accident. No injuries were reported. Hixton arrived at 3:40am with E52. E51, T51 and T52 also assisted on the call. 13 firefighters from Hixton assisted.

According to the Wisconsin DOT,  the driver of the semi had trouble taking a curve in the road and struck the barriers. The semi was hauling paper products then started on fire.
