EAA AirVenture Attendance Tops 500,000

The number of show planes attending EAA AirVenture totaled almost 2,500 with attendance at more than 500,000, officials announced Wednesday.A total of 2,078 visitors from other countries registered at the international visitors' tent. More than 10,000 aircraft arrived at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh and neighboring airports for the weeklong aviation convention, which ended this past Sunday.
Of the 2,489 show planes registered at the event, there were 978 that were home-built, 336 warbirds, 105 ultralights, 97 sea planes, 35 aerobatic aircraft and 31 rotorcraft.
Next year's AirVenture is scheduled for July 29-Aug. 4, 2013.
