Jury Begins Deliberating After State's Rebuttal
Monday, June 25th, 2012 -- 6:40 PM
-After the state's and defenses closing arguments in the Eric Koula trial, the state had one more opportunity to speak with the jury during the rebuttal.District Attorney Tim Gruenke said that the facts the defense had given them, ?were not accurate.?
He went on to say that the theories and explanations that the defense gave were thrown at the jury to see what would stick and some even contradicted one another.
Gruenke, once again, focused heavily on Koula?s lies and pointed out the inconsistencies between Koula?s interviews, or interrogations, and his testimony.
Some examples he gave were when Eric called 911, before or after discovering the bodies, and why he didn?t tell police about the check.
The 42-year-old Neillsville graduate is charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and forgery.
Jurors deliberated 5 hours yesterday and have continued today.
