Testimony Ends in Koula Trial

-Closing arguments are expected Monday after testimony ended in Eric Koula?s trial for the 2010 death of his parents.Prosecutors called their final rebuttal witness, FBI Supervisory Special Agent Robert Morton, to testify the shootings of Dennis and Merna Koula are not consistent with a professional killer as the defense argues.
Morton has investigated about six hit man cases, none where the victims were shot with a .22-caliber rifle as prosecutors have argued.
Morton said it?s not true that a lack of evidence is ?unusual? in a homicide case, as the defense contends. A killer could execute a simple plan to kill and leave a scene without depositing evidence.
Morton also disagreed with a defense expert?s conclusion that ?first time? killers usually leave behind evidence at crime scenes.
?If that was actually true there would never be a serial murderer,? he said. ?There would also not be unsolved murders as well.?
