Clark County Man Enters Guilty Plea in Home Invasion

-A Clark County man involved in a Neillsville home invasion has entered pleas of guilty to the charges filed against him.Robert Stargardt, of Chili, was an accomplice to Alexander Lee when both men entered the home of Lance Poeschel in early February and viciously beat him with a pipe and bat. Both men stole several items from Poeschel after the attack.
The charge of armed robbery was dropped, but read into the record. Stargardt entered guilty pleas into the record regarding the charges of burglary and substantial battery.
Judge Jon Counsell informed Stargardt that his penalties will increase because he used a weapon in the attack.
A pre-sentencing investigation has been ordered in order to determine the appropriate sentence for his crimes. The sentencing hearing will take place in August.
