Koula Neighbor Remembers Seeing Truck

Thursday, June 7th, 2012 -- 4:26 PM

-A neighbor to the slain Koula couple recalls seeing a dark colored truck in their driveway the day of the murders.

Michael Lenz, a neighbor, was working in his yard between five and six the day of the murder and recalls seeing the truck. This would have been the time that Merna Koula?s computer recorded its last key stroke and the time the murders are said to take place.

However, the defense attorney says that in his initial report Lenz had said he wasn?t sure if it was Thursday or Friday.

Also called was bank teller Paula Tart, who knew Koula personally, and testified he, had just $729.75 in his account before the deposit of the $50,000 check from his father.

She also said he wasn?t as talkative as he normally is on that Saturday morning when he deposited the check.

A co-worker of Dennis Koula also testified that he had said, that day, that he wanted to ?cut of his kids? and had no reason to lie about that statement.
