-A Marshfield Bus Service driver has been barred from transporting students for the company. After several incidents during a field trip the parents and teachers worried for the group's safe return.
On Wednesday, A group of Lincoln Elementary School students went to Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells.
The return trip home did not go well.
First, the driver struck a boulder that lined the parking lot, and a tire needed repairs. Later, the bus was pulled over by state police after the driver made an illegal U-turn. The bus driver was ticketed.
The teachers and parent volunteers then called the bus company and asked that a new driver be sent to their location to drive them the rest of the way to Marshfield.
The bus company's manager "personally came to Mauston to drive our students and staff home," Lincoln Elementary Principal Todd Felhofer said in a letter to parents sent out Thursday.
The group returned to Marshfield about three hours later than scheduled. Parents were called and notified of the delay.
