-Greenwood FBLA members and their advisor Connie Bushman will be attending the annual Cystic Fibrosis Walk in Carson Park on Saturday.Connie and two participating walkers, Miranda Fabian and Jennifer Baker told me that CF is a "genetic diseas that effects the lungs and digestive system."
The disease can affect both adults and children and lead to lung infections and other complications.
Miranda Fabian and Jennifer Baker have participated in the five to six mile walk before and are looking forward to it this year. They enjoy the warm family atmosphere that comes with this walk.
The FBLA members do what they can to help find a cure. Jennifer Baker said, "We do fundraisers to raise money and donate to CF. Plus, the disease hits close to home as some of Mrs. Bushman's family members have the disease." Miranda Fabian said, "This money will help those who have the disease pay for their medical bills."
The Eau Claire walkers raise an impressive amount of money for CF. Connie said, "typically, the Eau Claire group raises 40 to 50 thousand dollars."
Connie Bushman said if you?d like to learn more about the walk or Cystic Fibrosis feel free to contact her or go online to cff.org.
