Local Wood Workers Looking Forward to Studio Art Tour
Wednesday, April 25th, 2012 -- 8:33 AM
-This weekend is the Clark County Studio Art Tour. This tour highlights the wonderful artists that Clark County has to offer.
One place you can stop at is the Workshop of Bill and Mary Ann Snedic, siblings that grew up in the Willard area.
Both individuals are skilled wood workers.
Mary Ann will use pieces of wood, in a process she call ?wood assemblage,? to create inspiring pictures. She will often go out to old abandoned barns and pry boards off the side to create her work. ?I don?t stain anything,? she said, ?Whatever is found, that?s how I use the texture or color.?
Bill uses wood to create whatever comes to mind, including a ?death cart,? baby cradles, and even caskets and crematory boxes. Bill said when he gets an idea, ?these things bother your mind and you want to get them out.?
Mary Ann and Bill spent a lot of time in their workshops to prepare for the tour.
