Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 -- 10:21 AM
-Ryan Winslow made an initial appearance in the Clark County Court yesterday.Winslow was accused of being one of several individuals involved in a crime spree that spread between Clark and Wood Counties. The long list of charges filed against him includes theft, burglary, arson, and more. Winslow as well as his accomplices were arrested in mid-February.
Winslow appeared in court with defense attorney John Bachman and Richard Lewis appeared on behalf of the state. Bachman informed the court that Winslow wanted to waive the reading of the criminal complaint, but he does want a preliminary hearing.
A $5,000 cash bond was requested by Lewis due to the seriousness of the charges filed against him. He also felt Winslow was flight risk because of the numerous bonds filed against him in Wood and Marathon Counties.
Bachman requested a lower bail for his client, saying that his client wants to resolve the matters in the other counties quickly.
Judge Counsell felt that Winslow was a flight risk as well because he could face 80 years in prison if convicted of all the charges. However, he did set the bond at $3,000 and Winslow cannot have any contact with the others involved or the victims.
He has a future court date of April 26th.
