Monday, April 16th, 2012 -- 9:09 AM
-Today is the day that the Pamida store here in Neillsville begins its conversion to a Shopko Hometown Store. The store has begun to, "offer reduced prices on its exisitng merchandise to allow for the expanded Shopko Hometown merchandise to come in," explains Tara Powers, Shopko Spokesperson. She expects the sale to last "a couple months."
Tara continued on, "Once that's complete, we will begin the actual conversion process which should take five to six weeks. The store will never close completely, we will convert the store, department by department."
Tara also said the customer feedback has been "very positive" regarding the change.
Many small communities are choosen for these conversions because, "Shopko and Pamida found a void in retail when it comes to these small communities."
As Tara explained, the store will remain open to the community during this conversion process.
