-Bryce Luchterhand, a regional representative of Senator Herb Kohl, was in Loyal yesterday afternoon.Bryce was in the area to receive input from local farmers and businesses on the Senator?s Farm Bill. The Farm Bill includes information on many things including conservation, rural development, research, forestry, energy, and more.
This was one of the first sessions held and although area farmers didn?t show up for the event, Sheila Nyberg of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation had plenty to say.
Sheila would really like to see more economic development started in Clark County and although great strides have been made, Sheila said there are still areas that could use improvement. A big hassle that she has to deal with in trying to bring business here is a lot of ?red tape.?
Shelia also explained about a new type of animal feed that has omega 3?s as well as other nutrients in it. Early studies done show that this feed could save farmers a large amount of money in vet bills and antibiotics.
