Be Prepared for Tuesday Primary
Monday, April 2nd, 2012 -- 8:50 AM
-Voters probably won't have to show photo identification at the polls Tuesday, but election officials say it's best to come prepared.According to the Marshfield News Herald, as of Sunday, Wisconsin's voter ID law remained blocked after two Dane County circuit court judges determined in March that the law was unconstitutional.
Appeals courts sent two lawsuits challenging the blocked law directly to the state Supreme Court last week, leaving the door open to reinstating the ID requirements just before Tuesday's election, but officials said it's unlikely a decision would come that quickly.
It is recommended voters bring photo identification, such as a Wisconsin driver's license or a state ID card, just in case.
