Saturday, March 31st, 2012 -- 7:15 AM
A highway construction project 23 years in the making moves into its final stretch. The new Highway 10, which will connect Marshfield to Stevens Point, is scheduled to open by the end of August. It's been in the works since 1989. After more than seven years of construction, officials say they will begin working on the last section of the highway next month. Matt Bronson is the WI DOT Operations Manager and he says it's going to offer a safer, more efficient route from Marshfield to Stevens Point along with helping with the economic development in that area.
Officials say once the new Highway 10 is open, it will take 20 fewer minutes to drive from Marshfield to Stevens Point.
