-The Marshfield Police Department and Clark County Sheriff's Department are going to step up safety belt and drunken driving enforcement.According to a press release from both departments, they are going to increase traffic safety enforcement from March 5th to 21st in order to combat drunken driving and increase safety belt use. That time frame does include the St. Patrick?s Day weekend.
This increased enforcement is due to a grant received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Bureau of Transportation Safety based on traffic safety data.
?We are striving to prevent motorists from killing and injuring themselves and others on our roadways,? says Lt. Rick Gramza. ?Our goal is to reduce preventable traffic deaths to zero in Wisconsin.?
