-The Greenwood School District had their board meeting on Tuesday night. Some minor items were approved and accepted including the CESA 10 contracts and purchasing a football trophy for the Granton School District. Donations were also accepted from the Wisconsin Milk Board for their Booster Program and Flag Football Program. Several field trips for different groups were also approved.
Some other items of interest include the resignation of several district employees including Margaret Ouimette, Amber Becker, Jenny Peters, and Jennifer Jennings. All the resignations were accepted by the District Superintendent, Jennifer Vogler.
A presentation was put on by the 6th and 5th grade elementary teachers regarding an enriched math program. Scott Schiller, Lee Briggs, and Nick Akers decided to take a different approach to teaching math. A new program will allow students that are doing well in 5th and 6th grade math to jump ahead into algebra or other more challenging programs.
Every quarter, the students? performance in math will be monitored to see if they would benefit from the more challenging program.
Superintendent Vogler is very excited about the program and believes it will be a great way to challenge the students.
