Mary Gorbet Celebrates 50 Years at Memorial Medical Center

-A local woman celebrated 50 years at the Memorial Medical Center.Mary Gorbet, started at the Memorial Medical Center as a CNA in 1962 right here in Neillsville. She started working downstairs with the long term patients and then went to the nursing home when that opened. She was a CNA for 30 years before moving into the office for the past 20 years.
Mary said she loved working with all the wonderful people at MMC and said we should be very proud to have such a modern hospital in our area. She is also going to miss helping the people that come in hurt and even frightened and miss being able to comfort them.
Co-workers came into to congratulate and celebrate with Mary as I interviewed her, showing just how much she will be missed. Mary also joked with me about her and myself being left handed, but informing me that we are the ones in our right mine. When I asked her how she was going to celebrate her 50 years at MMC she told me she was going to retire, which she already has.
I asked what she was going to do with all her free time and Mary said she is looking forward to working in her flower beds when the weather gets nice. However, she would like one more blizzard before winter is over, that way she can sit in her home, with a warm cup of coffee, and say: ?I don?t have to go out in that today.? Here?s hoping for one more blizzard for Mary.
